Acupressure, nature cure system is an ancient Indian method of treatment, has recently gained popularity in the country. The system is simple to understand easy to practice, which can act as a curative and preventive system for many aliments. With the rapid growth in population there has been manyfold increase in the diseases. Though much headway has been made in different systems of medicine yet the ancient system of treatment needs to be encouraged which, too, have its own merits. Because our body has power to combat ailments, so acupressure can cure them without medicine. The biggest advantage of this system is that, its action is very quick. Diseases for many years can be cured in days. Patients sitting in their own homes and without spending a single penny can treat themselves on their own. One can only benefit from this system of treatment and there are no side effects. This is the oldest known system of treatment. As per acupressure system of treatment the power to combat all the ailments is always there in the body but this natural power has to be activated. The base of this system is pressure or "deep massage". Ancient Indian, Unani, Egyptian, Turkish and Roman doctors used "deep massage", i.e., acupressure to treat many bodily and mental ailments, blood circulation and to make muscles strong. They also advocated acupressure to release whole body tensions especially brain or mental tensions. Acupressure means, to put pressure on some specific points on the body such as feet, hands, face etc. These points are known as "Response Centers" or "Reflex Centers". In case of ailments, it is very painful when these highly sensitive points are pressed. Every "Response Center" has a size equal to peas seed. When these points are pressed, anti disease power gets activated and actually this power helps in curing the disease. It is very interesting to note that in this system, ailments are cured without medicine or surgical operations. One more advantage of acupressure is that it not only cures the diseases but also help to keep them at a bay by acting as preventive treatment.
